Taproot as a community of believers values the Bible as God’s word, worshipping and celebrating Jesus in song, and remembering His death on behalf of this sinful world through communion. We consider Sundays to be the first day of our week. As believers we open our week by gathering together to hear the gospel preached and the Bible taught. We sing to Jesus and celebrate Him in song. We remember the Lord through corporate communion as He commanded us. Having been strengthened by the gospel, fellowship, song, and repentance we scatter into our region for the rest of the week to fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ.

Worship in Song—Our Sunday gatherings are a time of celebration. In light of Jesus’ resurrection we sing His praises together as a joyful proclamation of Him.

Preaching the Bible—God has chosen to reveal himself through the Bible. We believe that God’s word has power to save and transform all of humanity. Week by week we work our way through the various books of the Bible chapter by chapter, verse by verse. Along with expositional preaching there are many times through the year where topical series will train the church on various issues as they pertain to life.

The church is a people not a process, performance, or physical place. In light of that truth come as you are. There is no need for the “right clothes” or the “right actions” to join our Sunday gatherings. Songs will be sung, the Bible will be taught, and you’ll meet a community of people in love with Jesus and you. Show up at 10 am, grab a cup of coffee, meet some new friends, and enjoy!

Taproot currently gathers every Sunday at 10am within the Burien Community Center on the corner of SW 148th St and 6th Ave SW in Burien.
